How to Care for an Egyptian Cotton Shirt

Your Giza Mills shirt is woven from pure long-staple Egyptian Giza cotton (our Rosetta from pure linen). Treated gently, natural cloth softens and improves for years. Here is how to keep it at its best.

Washing

Machine wash cold (30°C) on a gentle cycle, inside out, with like colours and a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibres and dulls the natural sheen.

Drying & ironing

Reshape the collar and cuffs, then hang to dry or iron while still slightly damp with a medium-hot iron — press collar and cuffs first. Hang on a shaped hanger to keep the shirt’s line.

A note on wrinkles

Pure cotton and linen wrinkle a little. That is the honest trade-off for cloth we never coat in formaldehyde non-iron resin — a quick press is all it takes for a crisp finish.
