All Giza cotton is Egyptian cotton: an extra-long-staple cotton grown in the Nile Delta. The unusually long fibres spin into a smoother, stronger yarn with fewer loose ends — which is why it feels softer and lasts longer than ordinary cotton. Ours is woven and made in Cairo.

Yes, for a simple physical reason: longer fibres mean fewer joins and fewer loose ends, so the cloth is smoother, stronger, pills less and softens beautifully with every wash. It costs more to grow and spin — we think the difference is worth it.

Two fine yarns are twisted together into a single stronger thread before the cloth is woven. The result is smoother, more durable and less see-through than single-ply cotton — a hallmark of a well-made shirt.

Our cotton shirts are 100% Egyptian Giza cotton — no polyester, no synthetic blend. (The one exception is the Rosetta, which is pure 100% linen — and labelled as such.)

It is — Egyptian cotton is breathable and absorbs moisture well, so it stays cool and comfortable against the skin through spring and summer.

To our house fit: clean and fitted through the shoulder and chest, with comfortable, gentle room through the waist. Never boxy, never tight — tailored where it flatters, relaxed where it should be.

Every product has its own size chart, measured from the actual production pattern — so what you read is what gets made. The easiest method: measure a shirt you already love flat and compare. Between two sizes, take the larger (cotton has minimal stretch).

Pure cotton can shrink slightly, mostly in length. Our cloth is pre-shrunk and the sizing allows for it — wash cool and avoid a hot tumble dry and you'll keep the fit.

Machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, with like colours. Skip the fabric softener — it coats the fibres and dulls the natural sheen. Air-dry or tumble low.

Pure cotton wrinkles a little — that's the honest trade-off for not coating the cloth in formaldehyde non-iron resin. A quick press while slightly damp gives a crisp, clean finish that a treated shirt never quite matches.

Use a medium-hot iron while the shirt is still slightly damp; press the collar and cuffs first, then the body. A little steam helps.

Many shirts sold as "Egyptian cotton" are actually blends, or use shorter-fibre cotton with an Egyptian-cotton label. Ours is genuine long-staple Egyptian Giza cotton, 2-ply, with no synthetic blend — woven in Cairo, not labelled in a warehouse.

Every order ships free with DHL Express, fully tracked and insured. Within the EU, delivery is 2–4 working days with taxes and duties included; UK and Switzerland 2–3 days; the US, Canada and rest of world 3–7 days. Orders placed before 12:00 CET on weekdays dispatch the same day.

If a piece isn't right, return it unworn with its tags for a full refund: 14 days within the EU (your statutory right of withdrawal) and 30 days outside the EU. Returns are free — email hello@gizamills.com with your order number and we'll send a prepaid DHL label.
